Holiday Slipping Away

As this holiday weekend slips away into photo albums seldom to be looked upon again, I wonder how many took the time to contemplate the American military people who have given their time, their health, or even their lives so we can enjoy freedom.

Probably not many found the time during their partying, trips, swimming, and other recreations. That is more than sad. That is dangerous. People are neither taking the time to learn for themselves nor teaching their children the value and the cost of freedom.

If our people do not value freedom, if they are not willing to even take the time to honor the people who DIED to give it to them, the vigilance required to forestall the slipping away of our freedoms will also be ignored.

Each of us should be aware of what is happening in our country. We should be willing to stand up for our rights and freedom, or we will lose them; they'll slip away when we are too busy to be vigilant -- too busy to make ourselves heard, too busy to vote.

OofDah, hold to your freedoms; don't let them slip away!
